  This is an in-person event located Heartlab in San Francisco.

  We believe the world needs your gifts! We have invited RA faculty to work with us over five modules to support you in expanding your impact in the world. Rather than focus on personal work, we are offering a series focused on developing our unique abilities to touch others and transform the world.

  Who is this for?

  • Leaders ready to step into the world fully and embody their gifts

  • People who are self-responsible, self-aware, and able to recognize personal biases

  • Humans willing to explore their impact in a co-created laboratory experience

  - Our Invitation -

  We will meet for 5 weekends, each time for 3 days.

  The weekends will have opportunities for leadership, teaching, creativity, and support. Part of each Friday will be peer-led without faculty present as a way to step more courageously into individual leadership.

  Each participant will work on one "project" during this series, using the modules for feedback and support. The project is an opportunity for you to take the work into other contexts and develop your RA inspired skills. Your project is a way for you to do your part, drawing on your passion and willingness to welcome and bridge other perspectives, lenses, or frames. The modules will include time for you to lead activities, work on your project, and work through challenges with group and faculty support.

  About Our Facilitator

  

  Presented By:
  Licia Sky, BFA, CMOH, is Co-Founder and Global Ambassador of the Trauma Research Foundation. 

  ​She is a somatic educator, artist, singer-songwriter, and bodyworker who works with traumatized individuals and trains mental health professionals to explore parts work, mindful meditation, movement, theater exercises, psychodrama, writing, psychedelic integration, and voice as tools for attunement, healing, and connection. For over a decade, she has been teaching expanded awareness in workshops to clinicians and laypeople around the world.
  
  Her methods are informed by 40 years as an artist, musician, bodywork therapist, yoga practitioner, and dancer; and incorporate poly-vagal theory, parts work, and the latest research on trauma and the body.

  Overtime allows attendees to continue to ask questions and invite conversation on the event material, other related inquiries, or cases after the formal event ends.
  

  Prepare for movement
  Please come dressed in loose fitting clothes and the space to move around. If you can bring a mat to lie on that would be helpful.

  USABP ON THE MOVE is an opportunity for our community to connect and experience restorative practices while getting exposure to many forms of somatic movement and mindful body-awareness programs. 

  The root of e-motion is “to move.” The same regions of the brain responsible for movement also carry out our cognitive processes. Our brain evolved from movement and still depends on it day to day. Join us to discover how conscious movement can bring nourishing restoration, playful community connection, and the understanding of how moving helps our thoughts, words, and actions.

  Somatic tools may include, among others, breath, movement, self-directed touch, sound vibration, and conscious dialogue.

  Meditation in Action

  Gordy and Zoe studied and toured with Babatunde Olatunji and the Drums of Passion. Babatunde Olatunji was known for introducing West African drumming in the West. Beginners and experienced drummers and dancers are welcome at this online event which will be a musical, educational, and cultural experience for all. Instruction for drumming and dance are tailored to accommodate various skill levels making it an inclusive environment for all to enjoy.

  • Experience and learn techniques to open up to your own and your groups connection to Spirit. 

  About Our Facilitators

  Gordy Onayemi Ryan

  Gordy Ryan played with Babtunde Olatunji for 30 years and built the Olatunji Hall in 1999; members of the Drums of Passion consider it as being our ‘Spirit Well’ where we honor Baba and the traditions passed to us by our elders in the Culture. Gordy has played on movie scores, over 100 albums, and now lives on Vashon Island where he teaches Afro Cuban music and plays in multiple bands including Roger Fisher’s (lead guitar and songwriter for the band Heart). He loves playing for the dance with his wife Zoe and accompanied Gabrielle Rothe during her career in the 5 Rhythms for over 30 years. His goal is to bring the Spirit to the musical moment.
  
  Zoë Ryan
  

  Zoë Ryan has journeyed deep into modern, shamanic and West African dance. It is her joy to bring the transformative nature of dance to people of all ages. She trained in dance education at the Rudolph Laban Centre in London and has an early background in Shakespearean Theatre. She apprenticed with Gabrielle Roth and played extensively with Babatunde Olatunji and the Drums of Passion.
