This workshop goes deep into the void between what we think we are supposed to look like/be/feel and real life. Where there is difference there is shame. We add curiosity and a bevy of new techniques to support your being more comfortable with your body so that you can support your client’s growth and embodiment.
The class is powerful, taking next steps from the first level and helping to connect with the true self that was split off long ago. We are holding a conversation with our body and the shame projected by society and family, and then transforming it.
This workshop is for therapists who want to work more effectively with clients who have body image issues as well as sub-clinical eating disorder symptoms. It includes art processes, movement practices, and my recorded guided visualization for practice between sessions.
Take a breath and pause. Take a breath and imagine the inner critic can step away for a few precious moments while you are in the workshop. This is awesome, sacred work that transforms shame and allows you to step forward onto a true life path.
Course Level: Intermediate
Prerequisite: Shame and the Body: Body Image, Eating Disorders and Embodiment (Level 1)
