The Research Committee’s purpose is to support research education, dissemination, and networking/collaboration among clinicians, academics, and researchers in the field of somatic psychology and body-mind practices.

Cynthia Price, PhD MA LMT Cynthia Price, PhD MA LMT has been involved in the field for 40 years, first in private practice and then as a Research Professor at the University of Washington. Cynthia developed, studies, and teaches an approach called Mindful Awareness in Body-oriented Therapy (MABT) that is focused on developing interoceptive awareness skills to promote emotion regulation and well-being. She co-created two self-report measures of interoceptive awareness: the Scale of Body Connection (SBC) and the Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness (MAIA). Cynthia is passionate about increasing community access to evidenced-based integrative approaches that promote self-awareness and embodiment.
