About Cynthasis

Cynthasis was founded by Cynthia Schwartzberg, LCSW, a nationally respected clinician, trainer, and leader in somatic psychotherapy. Licensed since 1984, Cynthia brings over 40 years of experience working at the intersection of mind, body, and spirit. She is a Brainspotting Phase 1 and 2 trainer and founder of the Southeast Brainspotting Institute, and she developed Harmonic Brain Healing™ (HBH), a proprietary trauma treatment modality. Drawing from her deep expertise in Brainspotting, Core Energetics, Parts Work, and somatic integration, she created Cynthasis as a hub for healing, learning, and conscious connection.

Cynthia is co-author of published research on Brainspotting as a treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder, appearing in the International Body Psychotherapy Journal (Vol. 22, No. 2, Winter 2023–2024).

Cynthasis is more than a private practice—it's a vibrant space where individuals and professionals gather to explore embodied presence, unlock resilience, and deepen their wholeness. Learn more about the full range of programs at cynthasis.com.

An Integrative Somatic Approach
Cynthasis blends evidence-based and experiential modalities that honor the body's intelligence and the nervous system's role in healing. Our integrative approach includes:
  •  Brainspotting: Accessing and processing trauma and emotional blocks through the brain-body connection
  • Core Energetics: Integrating body, emotion, and consciousness to release blocked energy and support authentic self-expression
  • Harmonic Brain Healing: Promoting internal harmony by unlocking stuck beliefs/images and moments in time
  • Somatic Mindfulness Practices: Supporting regulation, self-awareness, and grounded embodiment
  • Relational and Client-Centered Work: Creating a safe, attuned space for healing and integration
  • Parts Work: Integration work supporting the whole person

Our model is trauma-informed, inclusive, and rooted in the belief that everybody carries the potential for transformation.

What Clinicians Are Saying
“The application of Harmonic Brain Healing allowed me to reach the root of a complex developmental trauma and safely desensitize both the core trauma and the layered secondary traumas that had built up over years — profound yet remarkably gentle on the nervous system. It has become a highly effective, holistic addition to a trauma therapist's toolkit.”

— Taras Boichuk, MSc, Clinical Psychologist & Trauma Therapist

“I am impressed with the focused instruction and training provided at both Phase One and Phase Two. At each session, I came away with good foundations, practice knowledge and experience so that I was able to use BSP immediately.” —B.P.

“Cynthia is a natural teacher and has a very approachable, calming presence. Even when she's speaking to a very large crowd, I feel like she's speaking straight to my heart. If you have a chance to hear her speak, do yourself a favor and seize the opportunity to do so.” —J.C.
