Due February 15, 2027
USABP Integrated Somatics Conference 2027
New Horizons in
Embodied Transformation
The United States Association for Body Psychotherapy (USABP) invites submissions to present at the USABP Integrated Somatics Conference 2027, exploring this year's theme, New Horizons in Embodied Transformation.
We welcome clinicians, somatic practitioners, researchers, educators, healthcare professionals, movement and bodywork practitioners, coaches, students, training institutes, and professionals from related fields to contribute to a broad and evolving conversation about embodiment.
We are interested in presentations that deepen established areas of somatic practice, bring different somatic traditions into dialogue, explore emerging research and applications, or demonstrate how embodied perspectives and practices can inform and be integrated into existing approaches across clinical practice, healthcare, education, relationships, movement, and other forms of professional work.
Our goal this year is to demonstrate integration across the field, integration into practice, integration within the person.
This conference will reflect the breadth and vitality of our field and the new horizons emerging across our community.
The three dimensions of integration covered at the conference are:
1. Integration Across Somatic Traditions & Disciplines
Bringing distinct somatic approaches, lineages, research traditions, and disciplines into dialogue and exchange—exploring their intersections while respecting their differences, rather than suggesting they should become one unified modality.
2. Integration of Somatics Into Existing Professional Practice
Exploring how somatic awareness, principles, and practices can be integrated into established approaches and settings—including psychotherapy (CBT, Narrative, psychodynamic and other approaches), healthcare, physical and occupational therapy, coaching, education, addiction treatment, practitioner self-care, and more.
3. Integration Within the Person — Body, Mind, Emotion & Relationship
Understanding human experience and transformation as embodied and whole-person processes—integrating sensation, movement, physiology, emotion, cognition, behavior, relationship, meaning, and the social/environmental context in which people live. Your work speaks directly to that inquiry, and your presence would strengthen it.
