ALICE K. LADAS 2010 RESEARCH AWARDS


 

 

SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED UNTIL MAY 31, 2010 

 

The USABP Research Committee seeks submissions for two research awards to be presented at the 2010 Conference - Unraveling Trauma:  Body, Mind, and Science.  Research submissions will be judged on the following criteria.

RESEARCH AWARD CRITERIA 

Criteria by which the projects will be judged are

  1. Does the study add to the knowledge base about body psychotherapy?
  2. Are the objectives of the study clearly stated?
  3. Are the protocols and procedures used to test the objectives clearly described?
  4. Can the study be replicated using the same or different body psychotherapy modalities?
  5. Does the study and treatment of subjects conform to the ethical guidelines of USABP and the organization under whose auspices the study took place?
  6. Are the results presented in a clear, well organized fashion?
  7. Are the conclusions clearly stated and justified by the data?
  8. To accept previously unpublished, research, written in the English language.  Must be available to be published in USABP journal.
  9. To accept research previously published in a foreign language, submitted to USABP in English.  Must be available to be published in USABP journal.

PRIZES

First Place - $500

Student Research Award - $100

 

ELIGIBILITY

Any person (or persons) are eligible to submit work for the Research Award.  Only students enrolled in a degree or certificate granting program are eligible for the Student Research Award.  (documentation required upon request).   Membership in the USABP is not a criterion for reception of the Research Award. nor for the Student Research Award.   A requirement for reception of the research award or student award is submission of a publishable paper to the editor of The USA Body Psychotherapy Journal by August 1, 2010 and that it be accepted for publication in the The USA Body Psychotherapy Journal.  Submissions should not be more than 12,000 words in length. 

 

SUBMISSIONS INSTRUCTIONS

Persons wishing to submit for the Research Award and Student Research Award should fill out the form below including attaching the actual research work to this form (uploading a Word or other similar document).

Be sure to include a cover sheet with contact information and which award you are submitting research for.

All personal information will be removed before being submitted to the judging committee for blind review.

 

DEADLINE

All submissions must be received - May 31, 2010.

The decision of the committee will be released - June 30, 2010.

Reception of publishable paper by USABPJ - August 1, 2010

The Research Award and the Student Research Award will be presented at the 2010 Conference in Pleasant Hill, CA.
